The Part III Permissions Committee is responsible for granting permission to Cambridge students who wish to take Part III of the Mathematical Tripos, on behalf of the Faculty Board of Mathematics. Detailed information for Part II students wishing to continue to Part III is available here.
Membership
The Part III Permissions Committee is a committee appointed by the Faculty Board of Mathematics. Its membership consists of:
- the two Directors of Part III for DAMTP and DPMMS, ex officio,
- three nominees from the Director of Studies in Mathematics from among their number, and
- two further members appointed by the Faculty Board after the three Directors of Studies have been nominated
There should be no more than two Fellows from any single College.
The appointed members serve for a period 3 years, with effect from 1 January, and may be reappointed to provide continuity.
